Enhance the beauty of your pond with Pond Lights

A pond UV filter plays an important role in controlling the algae in your pond. An UV sterilizer is said to damage single cell algae that is the chief cause of your pond turning green. You might combine a pond filter with a clarifier light or any other pond lights in order to get a crystal clear pond. A pond UV filter makes use of a light source which is held in a protective covering or sleeve and then mounted so that water can flow throw a chamber and the UV rays emitted are absorbed in the water. These rays are responsible for destroying the damaging kind of bacteria as well as inactivating many a virus.

There are plenty pond lights available but the pond UV light actually works as a filter. A filter is normally defined as something that removes material not required from a liquid in our case.  UV light eradicates bacteria that can be harmful from the water. Where algae are concerned, the UV light behaves more like a transformer rather than a filter. The pond UV light does not filter out the algae but changes the live algae in to dead algae.

The main advantage of fiber-optic pond lights is that a lot of lights can be produced and controlled by using a single remote source of light. The fiber-optic technology permits you to have as many as 16 fixtures which can be driven off by using just one light bulb. The light apertures at the end of each cable which are hardly seen make it easier to hide them around the pond. Since fiber-optic has a color wheel technology, you can transform the white light into a host of colors with the flick of a button which is not possible with ordinary pond lights. Pond UV lights as we have already seen maintain the health of your pond water.
