Stove Outer
I have a nice hole in my refrigerator. It is about 3″ in diameter. How to fix?
The kitchenette of my small studio apartment has an electric stove range with coil burners. The refrigerator is underneath it. When we got to the apartment there were no drip pans for the burners. We cooked a few times. The outer casing of the refrigerator is metal and has no hole. It is beneath the burner on the inside just below the back coil burner of the 2 burner electric stove just above it.
For the past 3 months we have not been using the fridge because it smells awful. I never noticed the hole before now. We would clean the inside of the fridge and it would smell again after a short time.
Now that I noticed the hole I want to know if there is anything I can do to fix it and if so what?
There is a product call Bondo, It is an auto body filler. You mix the hardener with the putty and spread it on. You may need some fiberglass patch to fill such a large whole, but it should work. This stuff dries in approx. 20 min. It is sandable. Make thin layers and build the whole closed.
