Which motherboard is better?
I want a AM3, DDR3 main board for my gaming pc, so which do you think is best? Also i want to do some HD video editing and stuff so the board has got to be an all rounder…
-ASUS M4A79T Deluxe
-ASUS M4a79XTD EVO (which i can’t find a review for on Tom’s Hardware)
-ASUS Crosshair III 790FX
If you can think of any others as well, thanks…
The ASUS Crosshair III 790FX is definitely made for gaming but the con is it has only 2 PCI Express 2.0 slots so you can only do Dual x16 which means 2 graphic cards is the maximum
The ASUS M4A79T Deluxe on the other hand has 4 PCI Express 2.0 slots so you can upgrade further than the Crosshair III but it doesn’t have a discrete sound card
It wasn’t made for gaming it was made for like multimedia, photoshop, “power computer” as i would say
but nope not for gaming
The ASUS M4a79XTD EVO is like the Deluxe but maybe for budget and as you can see it only has 2 PCI Express 2.0 Slots and it uses the AMD 790X for the North Bridge which is the same version of the other 2 board (AMD 790FX) but with stuff disabled, so stick to the other 2 because the AMD 790FX Guaranteed the maximum overclock for your board
