Pinnacle pool pump?
This is not a question. I am mearly posting this information so that someone else may benefit from the headaches that I have been through.
I have a pinnacle pump for my pool and the motor on it failed. For some reason trying to find a replacement motor was a confusing task.
All of the online resoures, and even my local pool store looked up the replacement motor to be a square flange motor such as the AO Smith USQ1152. I didn’t know any better so I bought 1, and it was immediatly apparent that I did not need a square flange motor. I eventually called Pinnacle (Pentair) and even their rep had to dig for the part number for a thru bolt motor.
I finnally got the Pinnacle part number 356440 which translates to an AO Smith BN35 which has a round flange and the thru bolts.
Hopefully this will be useful for someone else. The person that sympathizes with my plight the best will be awarded the points for best answer.
Pentair isn’t the only one to use AO’s like that. Swim Quip also does and I’ve seen people order the wrong motor on the assumption that all they needed was the motor manufaturer’s name, not the pump maker or model.
Lol, I’ve even got to a job, finding I have the wrong faced motor. Doesn’t fit very well does it?
